I suggest you look through magazines (either bridal or not) to find makeup styles that you like. Cut the pictures out so you have them for reference. If you see someone wearing makeup you like, ask what they use and how they achieve their look.
You should hire someone to do your makeup for you on your wedding day. It is a great way to get some pampering in, and one less thing you'll have to stress over. Most hair salons can recommend makeup artists. If there is a beauty school near you, you can call them for information on who can do your makeup. The least expensive way to get your makeup done is to go to a makeup counter at a department store. If you're going to do this, schedule an appointment at an upscale store.
Your wedding day makeup should be a reflection of who you are. I suggest that brides go with a more natural, elegant look (neutral soft colors) over something that is trendy (bright crazy colors) right now. Trends change and you don't want to look back on your pictures and think "How could I have ever worn my makeup like that?!"
