Speaking from America, we love Australia. However, most couldn't point out the exact location of any city and we know nothing of your politics. This stuff never makes our headlines.

I have some family who stays in Melbourne, Australia.

Canberra is the capital of Australia.

I plan to go on holiday to Australia in 2 years time, I have family who stays in Sydney as well. My folks went to Sydney and Melbourne last December, and they fell in love with your country. We live in South Africa, which is still regarded as a third world country, so for them to go to a first world country was amazing, it really opened their eyes to how bad our situation is here in South Africa. They want my boyfriend and I to move there and settle down and then send them tickets to come over.

I find it amazing how your government treats you, I mean you guys really receive a lot from your government, you get money so you can study, you get money when you have kids etc. I only wish we had benefit like you have in Australia. And I hear its so safe there, we definately gonna go on holiday to check it out and see if we will be able to live there.

You have a beautiful country.

I thought "The Sound of Music" was great. Oh, wait, wrong country isn't it...

Anyway, I think Hulk Hogan is great ("Psst- Paul Hogan you idiot", commented Flagon)

Seriously

"Yeah, right", said the dragon.

I have a very positive view of Australia. I think most Americans do. I do know how to find it on that map. Bottom of Asia, just west of Indonesia. Don't know much of the rest of the geography though.

All I can tell you is you did a hell of a better job with that last Typhoon than we did with Katrina.

Although some people here in the UK don't. I think it's just because of the Ashes, lol. I'm American and I love Aussies. Don't like John Howard too much and I hope you guys will become a Republic once the Queen dies since it be good for you guys since you guys are already standing up on your own two feet.

Some of my wife's family lives in Australia, near Perth.

I think the world knows more about Oz now than they ever did, especially after the Olympics in Sydney. I think people see Oz as a beautiful country with friendly people. Populated by convicts.
