El Dorado also starring Robert Mitchem and James Caan (as Alan Bourdillion Traherne, a.k.a. Mississippi).
El Dorado was actually a remake of Rio Bravo with John Wayne in the same roll but Dean Martin as the drunk and Ricky Nelson as Colorado (who was much better with a gun than Mississippi).
The movie was then made again with some slight plot changes under the name Rio Lobo. Seems Howard Hawks and John Wayne knew how to make good westerns but didn't have much of an imagination. (I love all three films.)
