World power alone will not makes a country wealthy.So the life would not change

A small, arrogant and intoverted nation..pretty much, it'd either grown into a mature country, looking to work with the world..or it would turn in on itself and become the nation it was at the start of the 20th century..isolated, forlorn and neutral to the world

It would be taken over by Mexico or China for it's resources.
