Well, I'm a guy... but have never had issues with the homosexual culture, so I'd like to give an objective answer to your question, ok?
Your question is really whether one would prefer to be either, a lesbian or a straight woman... since you describe each example as being both "smart and hot". A good combination for a person of any sexual orientation! *smile*
This is an answer that a lot of straights have a problem with, but it's really not a matter of choosing to be straight or gay/lez... one's sexual orientation is inborn, not chosen or 'learned'. You're attracted to women, much in the way that I am- only it's not really the same. It seems that it would be... but I think you'd agree as have most every lesbian I've known, that it's the same but different when you really think about it.
Anyway, in response to your question, lesbians such as yourself would 'naturally' prefer to be as they are... and straights would unquestionably answer that they are happy being hetero, many adding some sort of insult or condemnation of your sexuality.
I'm straight... I do love women and the heterosexual nature of any intimate relation in which I've been involved with one. The consideration of a homosexual encounter or relationship doesn't do it for me. I can't see myself in that scenario, even out of curiousity... but, I'm not going to criticize or throw bibles at men created homosexual! They didn't ask to be born as they were, no more than I asked to be born a male or with blue eyes or blonde hair.
Anyway, I just wanted to get 'a word or so' in sideways before the others get atcha! lol Enjoy your life, be good to yourself and others and don't allow your sexuality to totally define who you are. *hug*

OK...well, I'm straight and have never "yearned" for a female body...however; I have wondered and seen alot of lesbians that were very attractive; even more so than men.
