I have heard that local raw honey is good for allergies, I have dogs which scratch alot of the time, ever after baths, and one gets a shot sometimes. Should I try this for them? I have allergies too, but most of mine is to them, which I don't want people to tell me to get rid of them, not an option, I am in the animal industry(groomer) and I have 2 cats and 3 dogs. I'm willing to try it also, but want to know about them ,Mollie is miserable sometimes... thanks B.

I would experience Goji. I have been drinking it for almost a year and did not have to use any allergy medication this year, plus I have tons of energy. Here is why I recommend it...

You can purchase it at: http://healthierandfree.freelife.com

The primary causes of allergy include ingestants (substances that enter the body by mouth such as food and drugs), inhalants (protein substances breathed in through the nose or mouth, such as pollen, mold psores, animal dander and house dust mites, and contact allergies that enter the body through the skin such as powders, lotions, fragrances, some metals, latex, household cleaners and soap rediue.

It is important to remember that an allergy is not a result of either overactive or sluggish immune function; it is caused by immune abnormalities. Fortunately, traditional Asian medicaine has long demonstrated that abnormal immune response can be treated successfully, without the need for harsh drugs.

In Asia, the goji berrty has been used a s a primary allergy therapy for centuries. The noted ethnobotanist, Dr. James A. Duke, classifies goji as an immunomodulator - an enhancing substance that can balance and normalize abnormal immune response.

In a study of the goji berry reported in the Journal of the Beijing Medical University, it was noted that goji reduced antibodies associated with allergy-type reactions.

You need to be careful and make sure there is a spectral signature on the bottle which says that all 4 bioactive polysaccharides are present. There are a lot of knock-offs out there that do not have all 4 of them in it.

It depends on the source of the allergy, the reason people say honey is good for allergies is unprocessed honey has pollen in it and if you get the pollen from your area the theory is it should act like an immunization. Good luck geting unprocessed raw honey. Anyway if you want to test the honey to know if it's real and isnt processed or sugar water, try to stream it. If you can get a long stream of honey flowing from a bottle that doesn't break, you have the real thing. There's a lot of sugarwater being sold as honey out there. Again, good luck.

Look at the ingredient list of the food you are giving them. See any artificial food colors at the end of the ingredient list (yellow 40, red #5, Blue #1)? These can cause skin problems for dogs. Check the treats too. Find something that is artificial color free. The dog's not going to care what it looks like, it's to sell the owner.
Add some fish oil or flax oil to the dogs food. Easy to figure out the dosage once you get it (from anyplace that carries a good assortment of vitamins or online). Dogs love both. Adds omega 3 that is essential for healthy skin and coat. Also good for joint health and brain function.
Go easy on the number of baths as this removes natural oils from their skin. Make sure you are using a mild soap and do a good job rinsing.
Be patient and these will help. Honey? No.
Good luck.
