You can see players complaining to the ref in most sports. Basketball it happens all the time. It's not so much to change that decision, but to influence the next one. I do agree that it is too much. Football should take from other sports (e.g. rugby) where even talking back can cost you yards of possession.

They do occasionally, Arsenal v Fulham 2004 Premiership.

Also one of the 'arguments' for the ref getting it right sending off Rooney in England v Portugal last week, was that England players DIDN'T protest.

they also complain just to vent their frustrations mainly. also if they just walk off it looks like they were guilty, but if they protest they are trying to show the ref and well as the public that they are not.

They think that the referee will realize he made a mistake and on another play will compensate them. Plain silliness.

yeah you are right & i always think about it but I think that the stress of the game effects on players &thats the reason

they do it to impress other refree's decisions in that game
