Is this a real question? Look at what Francisco Liriano has done since being called up as a starter. He has the lowest E.R.A. and the best numbers of any pitcher and he's under 25. He went up against the Rocket and made Clemens look his age, Liriano dominated that game. Besides, A.J. and the socks can take a flying leap off a short peer, A.J. is a jerk and his manager needs Ritalin.

To be honest, I think Liriano and Hafner both deserve to be there. Fans tend to overlook Hafner because he isn't really a big name (unless you're a fantasy baseball player, of course). He's been having an incredible season that may rival David Ortiz for best DH this year. Liriano, of course, has been mowing over hitters since the Twins put him on the roster. He was doing great as a reliever but we all knew he would be a starter before too long. Since then he has only 1 loss (in which he only gave up 3 runs).
Both players belong in this game. As for my vote, I gave it to Hafner because he's been stuck in this situation before and lost (2004).

Hafner for sure. Liriano is a great player, but I think Hafner gets the honor this time. Hafner should have been named initially.

He clearly has the number. .318, 24 HR, 70 RBI after last night.

His numbers are better then almost everybody on the All-Star team.
If those are not All-Star numbers, the whole system is a sham.

Liriano...of course. this guy is having a 'cy young' type of first half. He was clearly dominant and he deserves a spot. Hafner is good too but Liriano gets my vote.

Clearly Travis Hafner.

I agree with Liriano with Hafner close behind. I'm not sure why Raul Ibanez was left off.

Yeah, but AJ Pierzynski has one of the 5 best batting averages in the AL.

he also gets extra points for being a white sox player.

go sox!

I think Travis Hafner because he is an awesome player. If you were asking for NL too i would say Nomar Garciaparra also because he is a great athlete.
