It's ok to feel that way sometimes. I think all of us have felt like that at some point. But if you feel like this every day of your life, this is not normal or healthy. Depression is a sneaky thing that slowly robs you of any happiness and any chance of feeling motivated to change the circumstances you are in. If you have a supportive family ask them to help you. And certainly seek counseling. There is no shame in asking for help. I did, and I really feel like my counselor (who was kind enough to counsel me for free) saved my life.

Maybe you need to take an extra-long S h i t...and while you're relaxing...Write down on a sheet of paper - Everything You don't like about Your Current Situation...Then, Write down Where You'd Like-to-Be in the Next Year, 2 Yrs, 5 Yrs, etc...
Finally, Decide How You Can Get There!...Do You need more Education...Then, Enroll - Even, Part-Time to get started....Need Money? Maybe you can borrow from Family/Friends, etc.
The main thing is...You need to know what's Lacking in Your Life...and, something's definitely lacking! So What Turns-You-On??? What would you be doing Right Now - If You could just Throw-a-Switch & Be Doing-It???
Nobody is going to change Your Life for You. Period. If You feel the need for change, Do it! Whatever needs to be done, Start Now!
That Old Cliche has been around forever...for a reason...You Only Live Once!!!

You feel that way because you don't feel like you have any control over your own life. Stop and think about that for a second. I am willing to bet you feel like there is a whole list of things you ~have~ to do that is dictated by others, and very little freedom to do what you want to do.
The natural response to this is rebellion, of course. If you are a teenager, you'll just want to run away, get drunk, get high, get laid. If you are an adult, you'll fantasize about running off, self-medicate (legally or non), and eventually turn off that part of your mind and plod through life in a haze because you have to. If you are a parent, you will (ironically) fantasize about being a teenager again with no responsibilities.
Rebellion only makes it worse, because the very things you are trying to escape will not change.
The best answer is to find a way to do things on your terms, where you make some of the rules for yourself, where you gain control over your life.
If you are a teenager, that means coming to grips to the fact that school and jobs and responsibility will never go away, and you can never escape them. Learn to be really good at the stuff you have to do, and you’ll find you have more time, freedom, and opportunities to do the stuff you want to do.
If you are an adult, that means taking the time to stop and decide what is important in your life. Everyone makes their own reality. Set your ground rules of what you will and will not accept from family, jobs, and relationships. Cut out people who bring more problems than joy, quit the jobs that drag you down even if it means making less money doing something you truly love. In your house, you are the king (or queen); if you pay the bills, you make the rules. Period.
If you are a parent with the aforementioned useless teenager(s) in your home, be firm with your rules. Life won’t let them slide. If they were on their own, would their boss let them slide at work? Would the apartment complex manager let them slide if they won’t pay? No. Your job is to help teach them life, as awful as it may be. They won’t like it at all, they will accuse you of being unfair. But, when they are 25, out on their own and self-sufficient because you helped teach them how to be, they will thank you.
Good luck to you. Your life is what you make it to be.

Because you've allowed your standards to drop to the level were you don't care what language comes out of your mouth. Also today's society upholds not caring especially much about anything and all most people care about is conforming to the conventions of the time. So if all that people care about is a convention that is not to care then what hope have you got. Rebel, save yourself, go get obsessed in something.

Consider Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It chronicles the stages of motivation in humans ie. once you have achieved biological needs you will seek safety and once you have sought that you will require love. This continues until a person achieves self-actualisation which is this 'instant' kind of intellectual enlightenment where people only want to illuminate their minds. Your lack of motivation may lie somewhere beneath this.
1. Physiological
2. Safety
3. Love
4. Status
5. Actualization

stagnation of the spirit, try to do something to unclog your energy and let it flow freely once again. if you'd like I'll send you reiki, but you have to ask.because until someone is willing to be helped all the healing in the world won't help

I'm sorry. It sounds like depression. If it doesn't go away you should seek medical advice.
