Oh people, read your history books. There world is most assuredly getting better. Yes, there are problems here, some new, some old, some that should have been solved still existing but what do you want, paradise? This is life. It is getting better, it just takes times. Try watching less news and start learning more about this world we live in. Read the history books, talk to real people, not just in your own country but from around the world. Instead of bemoaning the fact that it isn't perfect, ask yourself, what can YOU do to make it better? Are you willing to petition the government for reform? Are you willing to forgo the over-priced goodies that you don't need which only ensure the under paid workers of third world countries stay in poverty stricken conditions? Are you willing to accept that you are just as responsible for this world's conditions as are the 'fat cats' who keep us poor? We're all in this together. You want it better? Fix it yourself.

The most certain thing one can say about the human condition today is that there is a very high probability that it will get much worse over the next century.

It really depends on what country and your status in life, which are education, family background, financial condition, and environment. If I see it on a macro analysis, human condition is doing great. It's 70% fine, while of course other countries are experiencing war and famine.
We became what we are today, because of hardships and experiences that we had. We were able to meet and experience life that taught us a lesson in every step of the way. If we always work harder in a good, high morale, credible, honest , God fearing and showing good things to others that is what became of us.

The human condition is not good. I think people have become to caught up with the media, and it seems like everyone is trying to be something they're not (younger generation). Seems like everyone is angry, and the world has become a corrupted place. People need to pray to God, or believe in something good, or just practise karma.

The more things change, - the more they stay the same.

Well it's definitely true, there's nothing new under the sun regarding the human predicament. But with technology, and mass media, the one thing we could say is that are "connection with others", used to be in a geographical sense for 1,000's of years. Now it has taken on a more of a virtual sense in that my identity and group is not my family and community, but my beliefs, and Yahoo! User group virtual community.

I'd say those dang wooden houses made some of us a 'lil lazy because when you watch any movie with an indian tribe in it you'll usually see these adventurous and active native peoples (except no guns) and some fat ol' slob at the local bar/saloon/police station's made outta wood. Yeah, and who wants to be lazy, nowonder why cowboys are looked up to.

It is really sad that the United States can support other countries and cultures but not take care of "home first" We have citizens whom are homeless, helpless, unemployed, over burdened by high prices, unable to afford housing, insurance both health and homeowners. And the "FAT CATS" continue to get richer, at the expense of the elderly and poor people of the greatest country that takes care of others before taking care of their own.

We and the world ar ever-changing.We are a result of our developments, both physically and knowledge-wise. Also, now that history is being recorded, we have the good fortune to learn from our triumphs and mistakes.

I think that mankind does not learn from history and will continue to do the same things again and again.... the only difference between now and the past is technology
