I have classmates who send me those stupid e-mail chains ALL the time. They send me like 10 at once. I don't even read them, and delete them right away. Is there anyway to block the e-mail chains they send without blocking the really important e-mails they sent to me, in g-mail. Without fully blocking them.

Create a new email address for just family and friends.

That's family and friends who don't use AOL, or send you email cards.

Just tell them that if they can't type it, don't send it. If you don't trust certain friends from sending you that crap to your new private email, then just simply don't give it to them. They'll never know you have it.

There are also what is known as filters you can create within your mailbox. Then make a folder for each friend. If their email address is in the TO section, have it delivered to their folder.

Some spam can never go away.

That's why I have two main email accounts. One for my close family/friends, one for everything else.

Tell them Not to send them to you, that you do not want to receive them, maybe this will help stop some of the spam and scam mail they are sending you!

You can not. You will need a 'proof reader' to tell what's good and what's not. Most Spam-blockers will block mails sent out to more than so many people. Yahoo spam blocker does.

You can't. You can tell them to stop sending you the other stuff or you'll block their address. But you pretty much have to block an address or allow it
