i personally reckon that it should have been a two way tie between:
JOAQUIN PHOENIX - WALK THE LINE
HEATH LEDGER - BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN

But all the nominees (except Terence Howard) deserved their nominees.

I haven't seen Capote yet, but Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a brilliant actor, so I'm sure he did deserve it =)

I really think he deserves an Oscar. .he was outstanding in Capote and as the main antagonist in M:I:3.

Give Hoffman an Oscar!

Heath Ledger for Brokeback Mountain.

He was SO good

PSH is pretty good though too, although I haven't seen Capote.

I have not seen the film so I cannot say that he did not deserve it but JOAQUIN PHOENIX would have been my choice in WALK THE LINE. He was excellent.
