Mom. You only have one mom in your entire life and she is irreplaceable.
I'm guessing you are the girlfriend and may be upset that you are #2. Imagine carrying a baby, giving birth, giving that child everything for twenty years, knowing him inside and out, knowing what he needs, likes, hates, etc.; being ready to die for him if you had to. Then one day, all of the sudden, you're out because a woman you don't even know is #1 in his life. A woman who barely really knows him and whom he's known for only weeks or months wants to take the place of someone who has known and cared for him from the moment he was conceived. Sounds unfair, doesn't it?
If you want to raise your position in his eyes, try to make his mom happy. Even if he himself doesn't like some things about his mom, you can bet that her happiness is very important to him, and if you help him to make her happy, he'll be much happier with you.

There should be some equal sharing of importance. If your gf is solid and you are planning on having her as your life partner then she should be treated with the same sense of importance as mom. Now if mom don't like her then maybe mom is on to something.

my mom was the most important one in my life til i met my life partner. then both understood where they stood in my life.
my mom gave my partner the same respect she demands for herself. dont be childish with this situation, mom is important and gf needs to know that, but mom also needs to know when you do find a gf worthy of you you need to stand up for yourself also your gf.
my mom and my partner both grew to love and respect each other.
having a good mother is a wonderful thing
having a good girlfriend is a great thing
having them both get along = PRICELESS
and when my partner passed, my mom was the one to fall apart more so than i did.

I think nobody in the world will ever love you like your mom does, not even your husband and children, a mother's love is unconditional and ever lasting, you can always have a new friend but you can never have a new mom, enjoy her, there will be a day when you regret not having her beside you, appreciate what she did for you.

It depends, if the girl has just become your gf then i think you mum should play top priority but if you've been going out for awhile....your gf derserves the same importance as your mom

Both are important. Why should anyone have to choose? Both are more important in different ways.
