Lightning is basically a huge static discharge, like when you rub your feet on the carpet and touch someone/thing. we can use this to explain it. Lightning starts at the ground, usually these are positive and negative charges, so this is you rubbing your feet on the carpet. Along comes the thunderstorm, which in its processes, builds negative and positive charges, eventually, the Earth build up such a charge that it cannot contain it, so it shoots up toward the cloud/sky. this is called a step leader, and it follows a direct yet meandering route to the cloud, lets say it is a positive charged step leader, well the cloud has both + and - charges, so lets say this particular cloud has - charge at its base, well the step leader contacts this - charge, and instantly it closes the "circuit", which is like you touching someone/thing, and the result is lightning. The thunder, it comes from the lightning, or more specific, the instant heating of the air to about 2 million degrees, this rapidly expands the air, which creates almost like a vacuum, once the strike discharges, the air cools and fills the void caused by the rapid expansion of air. You can estimate the distance of the lightning by counting the time from the flash to the bang, and divide it by 5, and remember, just cause the cloud is not over you, lightning can travel upwards of 20 miles, so you may be struck on what appears to be a sunny day...

The sound or thunder is caused by the lightning. It's creating a path of plasma that is suddenly pushed by the air, the impact creates the thunder. Lightning is caused by the ground and cloud which are in different status. The ground is ore positive and mostly the clouds are negative. The rest you know. But there are some clouds that are positive and in contact with the negative clouds are creating and electric charge, some are seen while others aren't because the are charging high in the air and they are covered by the clouds. There something else, when it rains the ground becomes negative while the raining clouds are becoming positive. There are different types of lightning caused be nature or by other objects like house electric machines or gadgets. Lightning many different forms : lines, spherical, like a necklace of pearls, curb etc.

matches would nicely be performed in gentle drizzle, yet you're of route conversing about circumstances which may stress delays and/or cancellations of blocks of matches. If climate would ward off the tournament from getting a pair rounds accomplished, it would want to finally end up being abandoned. there is not room on the calendar to reschedule -- and there is not any way different tourneys will be not on time or cancelled to make room.

its called thunderstorms, I was always told from a kid that if you look at the clouds before it begins there are white clouds and sort of gray black clouds, when they hit each other they are fighting against each other, making all the winds and thunderstorms. easy way to remember, not exactly the way it goes, but my way is wayy cooler!
