No, because then there is no where for the remaining family to visit to help with their grief. I think having an actual grave helps a lot - just my opinion though!

I also think they are very beautiful & historic places (even though people continue to bulldoze and build over them!). But I can see how we may run out of space for graveyards eventually!

Seems pretty darned silly to me, so wouldn't use one.
If a relative dies, they get their body burned or buried and the relatives visit the grave or wherever the ashes are. I don't think that logging onto the web would satisfy the reasons for visiting a grave emotionally. People like to think they can "touch" the person who's died by being close to their resting place. A virtual cemetary just wouldn't satisfy that element.
Good thought though. You never know..........

maybe i'm missing something here, but if I die, how can I get my real body into a make believe cemetary? This isn't solving the problem of laying my body to rest. If people are paying for this, let me know. I still have a fabulous bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

OK so when I die , my spirit will vanish into a computer controlled cemetary.
Does this mean that I will go to virtual heaven or hell as well ?

Actually when I die , I will probably be re connected to the Matrix !!!

Perhaps when people has run out of space for a "proper" cemetery, people would start make virtual cemetery something proper. But for now, I'm sure that people wouldn't dream to have a virtual cemetery, I'm sure that idea might be a good idea several decades from now.
