Independence Day (preferred)

July 4th... December 25th... January 1st... February 14th... none of these things have any meaning. They are only dates. The holidays have proper names in order to remind people of the importance of an event which took place in history, or to celebrate mothers, fathers, veterans, or leaders.

It is a minor point, but unless we preserve the meaning of our shared history, all of our sacrifices and achievements are hollow and forgotten.

I do however appreciate your sentiments, and your support for America in this highly divisive time. God bless you.

We use Happy 4th...but it is our day of Independance...

This day was made possible by a 33% popular vote - by separatists who were not well liked...
so as long as President Bush stays popular over 33% - I think he should feel secure.

33% of our population were against separation.

and 33% didn't care...they just wanted to be left alone.

Not bad for a bunch of yanks, eh?

Happy 4th of July!

(Sean F. forgets that America is PEOPLE, not a government and as such remains strong regardless of disagreements.)

Thank you for well wishes. We are independant, not only as a nation from the world without need to bend, but as individuals within a nation, ruling ourselves.

Yes, enjoy it as long as it lasts.
Thanks to your current administration the USA will fall by the wayside and tear herself apart in the near future.
