If you could make one change to the world to make people equal, what would it be? Sounds superficial but I would make everyone the same size - think of it, no supermodels, no talentless wannabes trading on their bodies, clothes shops would have to come up with something original .....ideas please!

Each answer would depend on what ones definition of "Equality" is. A previous answer in the thread mentioned giving people the same income; the same for a doctor and an a person who refuses to work? Most people are going to be tempted to give an answer that gives them an little "extra equality".
I believe that true equality is best humanly possible with the idea of "All Men (mankind) are created equal", and everything that it implies, which really means that all humans have equal worth , not abilities. Everyone should be given the benefit of attempting to make there own way through life as best they can, while respecting others attempt to do so as well. <

I think that one thing is not enough. though there are many GREAT ideas above. I am not sure there is the possiblity of of everyonebeing equal. maybe giving everyone and equal smarts IQ and emotional IQ. That would make the world have a better start, but it really can come from the nuturing of the family. Which again depends on the value of the history of the family. I would love it if everyone viewed each other as equal. it would get rid of many problems in the world.

You could never make people equal. We all have different lives, different backgrounds, different experiences and all of this serves to make us unique.

You would have to abolish any form of heirarchy so that there are no leaders, and so that everyone has the same finances. Everyone would have to have the same job, family, house, car etc. How boring would that be?

Would you go so far as to make people look identical down to hair and eye colour? That would be the ultimate in narcissism, you'd be falling in love with yourself.

It's a nice dream, but it would not solve anything. People need to be individual, it's what makes us who we are.

Make it so that people do not differentiate. Everyone accepts everyone else, there is no jealousy. You'd have equality through non comparative individuality- I suppose that's a little bit like your idea, but it's not quite the same...

Secondly... just make sure everyone has enough to eat. Not more than they need to eat, not less. No one would be hungry.

The one change I would do is none other then what makes the world go round... Money. Money, even more then "Looks" is what seperates people. If all people had equal money then all people will have the same morals and same lifestyle and therefor not be separated on what they have, what they drive, where they live and what they are wearing !

Did you ever watch the Dr. Suess show about the Sneeches?

If not, I highly recommend it.

The point is, humans strive to be different and unequal.
No change likely in near future.

You can not make everyone equal. It is impossible.

However, you could promote humanism...and that would help a lot.

i would implant the notion in everyone's brain that we are not better off or worse off than anybody, and that difference is a good thing that should be appreciated. Sounds like conditioning, innit?!
i think that there is nothing wrong with variety, its how you choose to let it affect you.
Everthing has a right to exist on an equal platform - thus making us all equal.
Am i making any sense?

Actually, the ONLY, ONLY thing that would make all people equal, is to kill them all. All bodies decay in the same way.
As long as they're still alive, they'll be thinking, behaving, believing, dressing, looking all differently.
