All the above answers are good, but if you are looking for a quick fix, not a full blown sand and refinish job, try Murphys Oil or Old English if the floors are darker. A new coat of poly would do it, but that's a real pain and expense because you need to sand the old coat first which means moving out all the furniture etc. Then you can't walk on the floor for at least a day. Start with the small easy remedies, then work up to the pain in the butt ones if you have to.

Get a wax crayon of a similar colour (white can also work well for small scratches) and rub hard. This will fill in the scratches, then rub with a soft polishing cloth to take away the excess wax. Alternatively invest in a wax based wood floor treatment - both work just as well though a crayon will save the expense of the floor treatment!!

If it's one of those laminated wood fllors there's no getting the scratches out I'm afraid. Laminated wood floors aren't meant to last that long.
If it's real wood floor then I guess it's the sanding and varnishing thing.

For minor scratches, Orange glo has put out this Wood Floor cleaning and refinishing kit, it has a poly product wich fills in monor scratches as you mop. I've seen it used at my aunt's and it does wonders. (she has dogs and the floor still came out looking like new)

gloss paint/varnish. if the scratches are deep, use fine wood sandpaper around the area, then appl varnish same colour until it evens out.
if it doesnt work, do the rain dance, set fire to the wood and dance around it b'utt naked...
