Have you ever thought about going into business for yourself?

Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.

I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:

* 101 Internet Businesses You Can Start from Home by Susan Sweeney
* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll
* I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It by Barbara Sher
* I Don't Know What I Want, But I Know It's Not This: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Gratifying Work by Julie Jansen
* The Best Internet Businesses You Can Start by Marian Betancourt
* The Shoestring Entrepreneur's Guide to Internet Start-Ups by Robert Spiegel
* Making a Living Without a Job : Winning Ways For Creating Work That You Love by Barbara Winter

I also posted some article links in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Well, it depends very much on what resources you have available. Ultimately you gotta sell something. It might be an object, in which case can you make anything that someone else might want to buy? Do you have access to a source of something cheaply that you can sell for more (even things bought on ebay for example).
Alternatively, you can sell a service, i.e. your time or skill. Is there something you can do that is in demand? Wash cars, walk dogs, type, deliver goods, make sandwiches etc. etc. What about posing for local artists or art classes? You don't have to look like a model, and will always be in demand. What about buying a franchise, a 'ready-made business' with all the support, all you have to do is run it. Sell something over the internet, e.g. personalised letters, proof-reading services. Write a book or article for a magazine.
You just have to try as many things as ou can, to see a) what you enjoy and what you don't and b) what will actually make some money and what won't.

Play on your strengths.

If you can sew take in alterations or make quilts, clothes for sale.

If your great in the kitchen, offer one dish meals for sale to working people. Wish somebody would deliver me a meal in a crockpot a couple times a week.

You can pet sit, or walk pets during the day for those who work.

You could do child care in your home.

Good Luck whatever you decide.
