1) Write a list of things you need to do.
2) Prioritise your list, giving each item an A, B or C for priority. Then label them in order 1, 2, 3, etc.
3) The 'A' list is must do today, A1 is most important. The 'B' List could be done today, the 'C' list is there for when you've been so prolific you've done everything else. TIP - don't do the things you like doing first, otherwise you'll end up with nothing good to look forward to, when the horrible stuff is out of the way.
4) When you complete a task, give yourself a tick.
5) If you find that the ticks you get don't represent the work you're putting in, then try writing down everything you do in order to complete a task - write essay for instance, is very high level and can be broken down into: Plan essay, write essay structure, do research, write essay - that's 4 ticks not one, and you get 3 before you even start writing! You also get a tick for writing out your daily task list - which is a task in itself.

You have used the term improving self-disciplline. Then you feel there is something lacking in you. For any mistakes that are committed in this world by an individual, Mahathma Gandhi classified they are either due to mind, speech and action. This has to be linked to discipline angle for each activity you do by way of the above three. In this connection, I would also add that Gandhi also said that man is like a totalitarian (dictatorial) government and that he can totally change his ways from that of earlier stand.- Read- My Philosophy of Life By M. Avoid unwanted actions.
Treat others as equal beings and don't do anything that you wouldn't like if they do to you.
Do carefully what you are doing. I mean, if you are writing let your mind fully be involved in that.
Sure, you will change a lot as you have willingness to improve.
