It isn't right to compare the Philippines with other countries. Some countries allow homosexual marriages because it is in line with their cultural heritage, their belief. Some are just to liberated, like america.
But there are already efforts to make homosexual marriages available in the Philippines. But, yes, it will take time. Because the state(the republic) isn't entirely separated from the church yet. The church has a big influence on governmental decisions.
Change don't come overnight. You'll have to wait.

I think its because the Philippines is unfortunately still conservative in its views. I do believe in equality. Gays, Lesbians and bisexuals deserve the same rights straight people do. After all they are also an important part of the community. I also believe that ignorance plays a big part on why we have such a negative view on them.
If you think America has a liberated view on gays, lesbians and bisexuals then think again. The US probably has more cases of hate crimes against gays, lesbians and bisexuals than the Philippines.

the third gender is a joke...gays or lesbians are in constant denial of what they really are. A man has a penis but he won't use it in the right manner is sick. The same goes true for women who want to have a dick so they can f*ck with other women. Why don't the gay men and lesbian women just live together and starting f*cking each other. At least they'll use their assets correctly even if they got screws loose in their heads.

Maybe, because they can not produce a child together. If they could maybe your country don't want to decide on which last name should be legally used.
I am not sure if understanding correctly. I believe you are addressing the issue of the same sex uniting in marriage. I don't know why anyone opposite or same sex would want to get married. I think marriage period should be illegal with a life sentence. Marriage is just a crime!

Unfortunately, religion controls the minds of too many individuals for the situation to be otherwise. Sad, but true.
Believe me! I (an American) and my husband (a Filipino) would LOVE to be legally married.

gays are pretty much accepted in the philippines, nothing serious like gay hate crimes or violence. theyre just accepted. what isnt accepted here is samesex marriage. being dominantly catholic, i dont think the church would allow that anytime soon.

i agree with Riafanel. LGBT's are accepted here in the phils., you'll see them everywhere. queers run their own beauty shops and are very successful at it. many lesbians (out or not) are also equally successful in their chosen endeavors.
and you, i cannot accept your spelling and grammar
