yes you could have desktop pc work with 2 processor and would need dual processor mother board for it.
You would be able to use it with Windows XP Pro or even 2000 pro OS but would need to update the HAL for supporting multiple processor.

Yes...but you must have a special motherboard made for that purpose.

There are several dual processor boards available, and of course you must have 2 CPUs, but the benefit may be limited unless the software is designed to fully take advantage of both processors.
