A short while ago, a number of people who were opposed to Britain (& the US) fighting the taliban in Afghanistan declared Jihad (holy war) on Brit & US. The issue was is that these people ACTUALLY came from Britain! So off they went leaving their homes and family behind in England to train in Pakistan and then engage the Brit/US troops in Afganistan. After these people had felt they had 'done their worse' they would come back to the UK and go about their daily lives until they had their 'call to arms' again! TRUE

My questions are: firstly how as British people can we/did we let these people get away with this high treason of attacking our boys (defenders of the crown) and class themselves as british indeed holding UK pssports? Should we have let them come back to this country knowing what they are/were doing? And as a brit how do you feel knowing that your taxes etc are helping pay for the welfare through benefits etc of these people who are quite clearly showing they arent with us?

Death penalty? Never going to happen. It should be made abundently clear though to every citizen that their religion does not legally take precedence over the law of the land. Why should it? If you dont obey the law of the land, your rights to liberty are removed, ie prison. Instead of opposing the law of the land, they have the opportunity to leave it for good. It is a stringent notion that one is subject to British law, by staying here and enjoying the benefits of it you must respect it.

As for the death penalty, personally because I know it will never be reintroduced I dont have a view as to whether it sould or not and dont care to think about it too much. 'Treason' should be a label, publicly announced and stuck on traitors, prison for life (as in the rest of their lives' in a no thrills prison, max security prison). Remember (very important): we want to protect our values, and they include not adopting the death penalty. So we cant justify the death penalty to avoid the bill for jailing them. Why? Because it isnt the way we do things as British people.

VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!

Remember Ireland? We put to death the leaders of the Easter Rising. What did that do? Entered them into matyrdom! What happened after that? The whole country was comsumed with hatred of the British presence and we had to give it up.

Do not underestimate the power of martyrdom! Entering the few that opposed us into it will only add fuel to their cause. It will not help us, but them. Imprisonment will not do this.

Hang on.. You are being disingenious with your question. Firstly you predicate your question on the basis of your culture and not theirs. There are people who believe their religion take precedence above all. This means a piece of land and accident of birth takes second place to their god. If Islam is being attacked anywhere in the world, they see it as their right to defend Islam wherever that may be. They would quite happily defend Islam in the UK as well as Afghanistan. The question should be, Why are UK and USA fighting people in their own country? Would you want to defend the UK if it were attacked, say by the Germans? Also I can show you at least a thousand cases where British mercenaries fight against 'your boys' as you put it. Your ex-Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher's son, Mark Thatcher, has a criminal record in South Africa, because he funded mercenaries with guns and equipment to fight against British and UN troops in West Africa and the Congo. Do you think he is a Treasonable Traitor who too should be hanged?. Before you people come on here with your racist bigotry, take a deep look at your own actions.

Recent research shows that a large percentage (though not a majority) of the muslim population of the UK feel no loyalty to this country and a good chunk even support the suicide bombings.

Unfortunately, we are unable to defend ourselves against the threat this posesses as our leaders have surrendered to an endless wave of multicultural idiocy.

My grandparents were immigrants, they learnt to speak English and were hugely greatful to escape the appalling conditions in their country and raised my mother to be English.

I am not advocating a return to hanging but I do think if you hate this country so much then at the first opportunity you should return to the country you left behind if it was so much better than here - the deafening silence from the individuals guilty of this suggests that they are just ungrateful swine and should be sent to France where they know how to deal with people like this properly.

Personally, I think they should be allowed back into the country so they can be dealt with. By that, I mean they should be shot for commiting treason against their fellow countrymen and the Crown.

Then they should be buried, in secrecy, in unmarked graves that have no public access whatsoever. Traitors to this country forfeit any rights and privileges that are associated with being a subject of Her Majesty.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds and it makes me sick to the back teeth knowing that these people are getting away with it.

They may not feel any loyalty to this country, but this country has helped them with free education, heath service, a police force, etc, so in my view they if they were to go against us then it is both wholly ungrateful and trecherous.

And yes, I do think the death penalty should be incurred for treason.

High treason of this sort should be dealt with accordingly. CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!!!!
These people have opposed themselves against the british crown, after taking good-will and protection from our government, and should be hung, drawn and quartered.

They should get the death penalty! They should only have been allowed to return to receive punishment. The government should not support them with your taxes because they did not support your government.

They should be made to live in a manner where they are serving the country in which they live. Their citizen rights ought also to be revoked.
