Ovulation can occasionally be accompanied with slight bleeding. The bleeding is usually light and last 1 to 2 days.

It can also be associated with slight abdominal pain (Mittelschmerz).

Your menses should come 2 weeks after ovulation if you do not get pregnant.

However, ovulation bleeding may not happen to every woman and it may not be present in every cycle.

Ovulation does not normally cause any bleeding at all. Occasionally there will be implantation bleeding, when the fertilized egg secures itself to the uterine wall. Implantation bleeding is usually just a little spotting and only lasts a few hours at most.
