I agree. When people are married and have problems they try to work it out and are less likely to just 'leave' the relationship, however, when you are just 'shacking up' if something goes wrong he/she could just leave. Also its better to be married when the kids are born and to secure benefits from each other. When you are employed you can put your husband/wife on your insurance, but not your live-in boyfriend/girlfriend. Also its more respectful. You don't have to have a lavish wedding either which is an excuse men give. Just put on a Sunday dress and go to the justice of the peace in your local courthouse. I don't like it when people spend thousands on a wedding just to express love and a commitment. I was married at the courthouse and I paid $100 for my dress, hubby paid 150.00 for his suit and he shelled out 50 for my bouquet and about 33 for the license. We went to eat chinese buffet afterwards. We were married for 7 blissful years. Actually the last 9 months were stressful. LOL! Oops I almost forgot, he paid $250 for my wedding ring at a pawn shop!

why do hetero women need a piece of paper to reassure them of there love for there man and vice versa? my step mom never had a paper confirming she loved me as her step daughter
and i never had a piece of paper to prove my love for my late wife and niether her for me. living together cuts the divorce rate down i think. and hey after you get divorced a time or two, you wont marry, you will just kick there butts out the door and be done with them. at least thats what my granny did, and the man she found proposed for the frist 12 years. go figure...

My marriage isn't any different than my live-in relationship with my husband, before we were married. The only difference is that my parents don't b*tch at me now.

you don't need a piece of paper to stay together, if you truly love someone you will stay together with or without the paper, its just paper.
