Try to ask politely that they call you______instead. This gives them a replacement for the "pet" name. Then only respond to the name you gave them to call you. If you don't let them know what you want, you won't get it. If after you've told them what you want, and they call you that just to get a "rise" out of you, ignore it. Don't give them what they want. If you get upset about it, it will make matters worse.
It may not change overnight, some may be in the habit of calling you by the pet name. Be patient.

don't worry kelkel, pet names fade eventually lamb chop, after a while people forget that they once called you punkin. If they don't just think of worse ones for them that will draw the attention away from yours.

Ask them to call you by your proper name. If they don't respect your wishes, then give THEM an even lamer pet name and call them that until they do.
