The chicken evolved over time untill it is what we know today. With this evolution came the ability to progenate through laying eggs. So they evolved at the same time.

if eggs came first, then who brood them until they hatch? so it's chicken. really.......... well, archeabacterium came first because at the start, life is inhospitable to any other living organisms, but then these archeabacteria can endure extreme conditions so they lived. as time passed, the earth evolved as well as the archeabacteria. some evolverd into birds and reptiles and plants and many other classified organisms... including humans and CHICKENS.,
