"The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. Very entertaining story, highly detailed and extensively researched on vampire legend and the historical background that gave rise to the legend. Read it and you'll know everything you ever wanted to about Vlad the impaler alias Vlad Tepes alias Vlad Dracula alias Drakulya
