Literal translation would be "More than noting", but it is actually used as 'More than anything'.
Ex: Quiero un amigo, más que nada.
'I want a friend more than anything'
Hope this helps.

If you translated it straight into English, it would mean 'more than nothing'. But it means 'more than anything' i.e. the negative statement disappeares. In a sentence it is used to reinforce what you are saying.
For example:
'Te quiero mas que nada'
In English this means 'I love you more than anything'

Hope this stops any confusion
