Come on people: it`s just a game, nothing more!!
Outside, all the players are friends... Ronaldo did what he had to do and Rooney showed very little control. That`s football... It´s not just about scoring and tactics, it`s also about mind games. And Rooney wasn`t up to it.
Did you see the end of Portugal-Netherlands? Deco was sitting next to two dutch players and they were just talking... So, inside the field they`re "enemies" but outside they`re friends.
Get over it!!! Rooney was well carded and Ronaldo was smart... Better luck next time!

For starters, wen Ronaldo tried to console Rooney, he got shrugged off...The media has a knack for being biased when necessary and also a talent for blowing things WAY out of proportion...I think it was just the heat of the moment which was an opportunity to stir a little chaos, and It would be silly if that little spat was taken seriously by Rooney...Its all part of the game!!! The World Cup happens less frequently than Manchester Utd games, so it would be ridiculous if tension occured between the 2 collegues...

Basically the way I saw it, Rooney fell it hook line and sinker. Ronaldo pushed the right buttons because as a mate he knows which buttons to push with Rooney. Why do you think he winked to his bench? When things are on the line in an international match like that, there are no friends, no mates only sides - Ronaldo's and Rooney's. It's blood and bone stuff. I would suggest that for the next time, Rooney needs to harden his mental game and smarten up coz guys will always be chipping away at him. That's not because they disrespect him, on the contrary, they respect him and that is why they know that his mental attitude isn't that strong compared to his physical attributes and skills he brings to football.
All the best to Rooney for the next 4 years because this is the time he works on his mental game as well.

Im a fan of England and was upset when Rooney was sent off and I actually hated Cristiano Ronaldo that day but I'm hoping that what you've written above is true and after all this is a tense competition so Rooney had the rights to be angry......

Actually for C. Ronaldo's future it is more important what Rooney and MU management are thinking about the situation.
His actions count more then his words

As far as I'm concerned that incident did not warrent a red card, and until Ronaldo step in and provoked Rooney, it probably would only have been a foul. The guy he stepped on, was up and smiling a second later. Yeah, and we all saw that WINK!!!

Who cares? C.Ronaldo needs a f*cking good kicking if you ask me, the cheating little c*nt, I hate him at Man U and I hate him when he plays for Portugal. Ive always hated him, His perfomance at the world cup on saturday hasnt raised my opinion of him at all. Instead, Its sent me on a mission to find all the other C.Ronaldo hating people and come together to devise a cunning plan on how to end his career. Maybe by breaking his legs in 37 places, or more probably just torture him until he expires. Red card my a*se.

though I am an England fan...I never like Rooney....so there's no wondering about C.Ronaldo could like Rooney. They might have some clash in MU...some incident that might have given C.Rld to dislike Rooney...and he took a chance when there was one.
