It is clear to the rest of the world - who have no personal interests in the matter - that US has attacked a sovereign state, has occupied it for reasons of financial and strategic interests, with false pretexts, and has harmed it in every possible way a war creates(torture, killing, bombs, discordia). Can we all be so wrong? Open your eyes, if you want to say you support freedom, you should support the freedom of other people too.

Oh, regarding the previous answer, when Greece was occupied by the Nazis and the people were resisting yet suffering and executed and sent to Auschwitz, there were some greeks who befriended the NAzis, betrayed the members of the resistance and were very happy that their financial interests were served.

Ok ,ill say my P.O.V, from an English Socialist perspective

The war has been one fo the biggest tragedies sicne Kosovo. Afganistan was a promising start, we deposed a cruel regime and tried to give Democracy to a country. However, Democracy isnt liek sacks of grain, it cannot be enforced or given, it has to be taken by the populance. We left Afganistan without finishing the job and now, the Taliban have taken ground against us

The Iraq war was sold to us under false pretenses. We all remember the warnings, 15mins would be all it took to launch chemical warheads at us, they were a threat etc...then with typical Western Arrogance, we shirked the UN, ignored the world community and tore into that country like vikings.
And what have we found? Rusty old soviet warheads, decaying to such a degree that firing was impossible. After 2 years of war, we found one measly cachment of weapons. But our 'mission' has again changed, with an orwellian twist. Apparently, it was never just about WMD's..it was about ridding Iraq of Saddam and bringing Democracy to Iraq..all lies, such bare-faced lies from both our governments.
The war is a moral outrage, a critical failure of the Western Coalition and another example of American warmongering and British poodling. Im personally sick of being lied to by our governments

Yes, I do believe it.

I've been there, and even though our wonderful poster above me will tell you all I am a Nazi, the Iraqi people DO like American soldies, and ARE glad that they are safer.

And yes, we were all screwed in Desert Storm by not being allowed to finish the job in '91. And who do you blame it on? I certainly do NOT blame it on Bush Sr. as we were part of that GLORIOUS multinational force that was shoved down our throats, remember?

I was there, as were many others that post here. I do know what I'm talking about. And if any of you actually wish to argue politics on a board where you can answer people specifically...... my name is Mortis there.

my husband was just recently deployed to iraq, he's deployed somewhere else right now but anyway, he told me they've met many iraqi's who work with the bases there that WANT their country to change, they WANT the american's help. they are considered traders and many of them fear for their lives everyday coming to work at the base but they truly believe that we have their best interests in mind and they know their country needs help. the media doesn't tell us any of the postive effects we are having on their country, they only advertise the deaths and anguish but we are doing the right thing. you will see....
