I am interested in purchasing a water filtertration system from Sears. Link is here

It is the Kenmore 38460

But how do you know if your sink supports it? ANd is it easy to install?

Never installed one but, if you know even a little about plumbing, it shouldn't be too hard. This type of system goes under your sink and has it's own "faucet" on top. The only requirement is that you have room under your sink to place it. It should come with everything you need for installation, including (probably) a (fairly) simple saddle valve to tap into the cold water supply.

I have installed similar ones before, it will work, it has nothing to do with what type of sink you have. You just have to turn off the cold water valve (under the sink the valve on the right). Still not sure which valve, turn on the cold water on the sink, turn a valve until the water stops, yup, you got it. You will need a cresant (adjustable) wrench or pliers, a small tubing pipe cutter (ask in the tool section of Sears). Basically you cut the cold water line in half(the skinny pipe going from the shut off valve up to your sink. You attach per instructions the new lines. One line goes into the filters case, the other comes out, and attaches to the pipe to your facuet. Read the instructions. After everything is working, let the water in the sink run for about 30 seconds to a minute to flush out any of the loose materials in the filter, the first time you use it, or whenever you put in new filters.

Any sink should do. All you need is a flat space to put the faucet and room underneath to put the system. The hardest part will be to saw the hole in the sink. The instructions will tell you how. Hooking to the water supply might involve some drilling and installation of a "saddle valve". See if you can get a copy of the instructions before you buy it to determine what is involved. Whether it's easy or not, depends on your skill level.
