Singapore, busy port that it is, originally shared the same native indigenous population as the surrounding islands of Malaysia and Indonesia. It was further colonised by people from India and China. Finally it became a British colony in 1867.
Your opponents are most likely to cite the development of a culture within Singapore, viz the peranakan people. They are essentially a group of people formed by the intermarriage of Chinese immigrants and the indigenous Malays. However, it could be argued that the culture that the peranakan people perpetuate is actually a combination of the preceding Malay (food, dress and language) and the incoming Chinese (religion, names, ceremonies).
Hope this helps.

What culture ? Answer is no. Imagine you are in an international festival organised by an American University and every nationality must bring a local food, dish, wear their national costume, talk their national language, etc....What would Singaporean bring or do?..get the idea. The plus side, is Singaporean can merge quite easily to the malaysian stall, the other Asian stall, even others...while leaving theirs empty. Empty Culture. The day Dialects was killed in Singapore.

culture resides in all learned behavior. Culture is learned from ones before us, and since the people in singapore are from a collection of different types of people, their "culture" is derived from many separate cultures and the joining of these cultures creates yet another culture unique to Singapore... so I think you will have a tough time arguing that they do not have their own culture.. I wish I had something for you but as I was trying to help you to prove the point.. I only solidified in my own mind that yes .. they do have their own culture! haha.. sorry. .. good luck
