Why should we care about a memorial painting in Germany?

When I was there many years ago, the Germans were fascinated by the wild west period of the US, so this painting may have grown out of that interest. As long as it's respectful, I see no problem.

Why not? The plight of the Native American peoples and the land taken from them by the US government is a part of history. So why be bothered by a painting being in a German museum.
