It might be your mouse. Some mice make noises when you move the wheel. That's normal, especially if it's an old mouse with a wheel. Mine does not do that, but it's fairly new. The noise is very pronounced when the wheel gets used a lot, like the mice on public computers in libraries and similar places.

If your mouse has no wheel, I don't know what to tell you. I would then guess that your computer has some sound effects enabled or something. Some computers have tiny speakers inside the tower that can make beeping or clicking noises.

There are several possibilities for this occurrence.

1. Bad Connection - Make sure everything is plugged in tight
2a. If mouse connection is pin, one might have a loose or bent pin
2b. If USB, USB port is dirty, blow out with air
2c. If USB, USB component is failing or old, buy a USB PCI expansion card, $20 to $50 depending on number of USB ports and make of card
3. Bad Mouse - Try another, it could be a loose connection
4. Old Sound Drivers - find updated one
5. Check to make sure OS is updated
6. Check and make sure all expansion cards are plugged in tight
7. Old Sound Card - Buy a new one, you can get a good one for under $100
8. Motherboard shot - find replacement motherboard, depending on computer, could be from $50 to $300, most likely around $100

Also another little tidbit, the amount of money for a computer part versus its age is much like a reverse parabola, and drops as no use that generation of technology. Starts high, gets cheaper, then as it becomes out dated, it starts to rise in price again, and stay there for about 3 to 4 years, and then drops off the map, when the computer can't even power an instant messenger.

Happy Trails

I can not guess the reason but it could be that you are using more than available pageing memory. It is normal if you start multipal task together.
