I believe Chinese is the most spoken language these days. Though English comes in at a nicely placed second.

Chinese (Mandarin). If you ask what's second, it depends on if you're counting native speakers only or also foreign language speakers... and either way, it'll be close calls with the trio of English, Hindi and Spanish with rather similar numbers. See the Wikipedia list for some info.

I was always under the impression that it was Mandarin Chinese, but I heard that years ago so I guess it could have changed. If it has, I'd say English

English & Spanish! But it also depends what country you are talking about, I mean obviously that wouldnt be the case in like Africa... but English and Spanish are stjill
