Can you prove Shiva doesn't exist?
What about Wodan?
Mithras?
The concept is redundant in each case, there is no objective reason for thinking there are such things outside of the hope of personal gain. It's mythology man, let it go.
There's a whole range of complexities in brains in the animal kingdom, human brains are just an elaboration on an old theme. If we were the only living things on earth that ever had any kind of brain, that would require explaining.
Cosmological expansion is not 'an explosion' it is beyond all earthly concept of scale. If it is the property of empty space to expand and it has been doing so for 14-15 billion years the vastness is already thoroughly explained.

Can You prove that a higher supernatural being DOES NOT exist?
Very good question!
No matter how much scientists/atheist ramble on about evolution, they can't conclusively prove God does not exist! They only know part of evolution not the TOTAL picture!
I too look at the complexity of man, of nature, life itself and ask how can there not be some intelligence at play? It's just hard for me to fathom that the well designed structure of life, miraculously just came together. Golly gee, that's scientists version of earth lotto.
I'm not religious btw just an open minded thinker.

People will believe what they want to believe. Some may believe in a being called "God", others may believe in Evolution, maybe even both. However, I don't think a person can truly know whether God does or doesn't exist, for all we have to look to for help on the topic is our own selves and our life experiences. As humans, we will believe what we want to believe and there's really nothing anyone can do about it. This is how I know God does and doesn't exist, because my experiences, though seemingly contradictory, have "taught" me so.

Can you show me valid proof a higher power *does* exist?
See, we're at something of an impasse. Faith, generally speaking, is blind, not bound by reason or rationality or logic. Science is eternally skeptic, questioning all and never offering an absolute final answer.
The existance of a deity is outside the purview of science because there isn't any evidence for it! Not to mention that science NEVER takes a work to be infallible - nor takes an infallible (that's fancy-ish for holy book, be it the sutras, the Torah, or the Koran) work as truth.

Lack of proof that something exists does not prove that it does not exist.
You cannot prove that something does not exist.
Can I prove that God does not exist? No, I cannot. It is impossible for someone to do so.
Also, just because something is complex or hard to understand dosen't mean it's impossible for it to be made naturally, and by naturally I mean not made by "God".
Take the modern computer for example, it is quite complex and most people who use them don't understand how they work at all. Similar is true for the human brain.
It is certainly possible for complex things to be made though evolution, or even made by man.

I think you're asking two vastly different questions... I truly believe that some higher power exists. But to give it a name? Then you have to say well I believe in God, but you believe in Allah, and you believe in Buddha, etc. And I'm a Christian, but you're Islamic, and you're Hindu and you're Jewish. I believe that given the vast "coincidences" that create you and me that it's part of a higher plan and that there's a force that is here at a very high level. But I also believe that it is looking to us to create a livable life and not wreak havoc. Kind of like Field of Dreams:(S)He built it and we came so now let'splay fair!

We don't we just know what we've been told and read. I know some things happen for a reason and I do have strong belief that someone is watching us when bad things happen to help us get out alright. I also think God created consciences for all of us. The little voices in our head giving us warnings, premonition is really God. Some people choose not to listen to their conscience at times and that's how you end up with bad people.

The existance of god, is nothing but a belief. But if you ask this question, you must also ask, how we know that the greek gods didn't exist, or how the Norse gods didn't exist.
The human race holds onto certain ideals, and idea's. One is the belief in a higher power. As we grow in intelligence we denounce that higher power, and try to conform the truths around us, to truths we can comprehend.
Granted yes, in every scientific field, we do have the one experiment, at least, that can only come to one of two conclusions. Either there is a higher power, or we are not advanced enough to understand the implications we are toying with.
Now onto the topic of god, and religion. One, we can discount the bible in it's viewpoints on the matter. It was written by bias men, during a time that each individual man sought power. Two, we can discount any other religious documents, for the same reason. So this leaves us with only the stories told. But we have to discount those as well, because they are told from a bias perception, and passed down along a flawed race. Homo Sapiens are inevitably flawed. So we grasp and try to better ourselves. This brings on the ideal of hope, and idea of self improvement. But to do this, we need to justify ourselves with a role model. We need something to hope and strive for. And to improve ourselves in that image. Thus we create god. And cater to that image as we develope ourselves in the ideals of God. Creating the greater good.
But, what of those that fall from the path that is of the greater good? They're the greater evil of course. So for those we create the devil, and form a punishment around actions that fall away from the teachings of the greater good.
So now we have the greater good, God, and the greater evil, Devil. Personified by beauty, age, and wisdom, is god. And personified with the ugliest of views, the youth, and the rebelion, is the devil. Alot like a teenager in all ways. Where god is the father.
This conforms to the ideals and practices of the human race. So in and of itself, it is going to be flawed.
Ending that one, because I lost my train of thought.
Most of this question is based on a person's perceptions. Which is all anything really is. Let me state my philosophies here. Now we have two common idea's on the making of the world. The Big Bang Theory, and the Faith of God theory. Scientifically, they are one and the same.
We have one source of energy, condensing and forming an explosion, creating matter and mass, through the explosion.
Then, we have God, who is nothing but one source of energy. To create the universe, he would have to condense and form himself, to create something from nothing. Thus creating an explosion in Nothing, thus creating matter and mass in the universe.
Niether are wrong, niether are right. In all honesty there is no way to tell whether god is real or not. There is no way of telling whether the Big Bang is real or not. Not until we can pull information from the electromagnetic energies as a whole at least. It's all based on perception, and conjecture. And what someone believes in, is real to that person. So there is no changing their mind. That's all there is to it. The previous paragraphs was me trying to relay that in a sense for christianic, and Jewish beliefs. Oh well.

Evolution exists for real.
If God designed man for perfection, why do we have the appendix - a useless and troublesome part?
