Just bad coaching plain and simple. Larry brown sabotaged that team. Cmon 42 different starting lineups. That could only end in the disaster. Brown doesnt deserve a single cent. The talent is thier. They have alot of potential. They jsut need good leadership.

Bad chemistry among the players. Many of the players are shoot first players. Marbury and Francis as good as they are, are not play-makers, they can onoly score. They both have huge egos and want to be the best player on the team. They compete against each other. Also Q-rich, Eddy Curry, James, are flops, they played well in their final seasons of their contract so they could get big free agent deals and then they slowed down. The team is full of ego maniacs and chumps sitting on big contracts. The coaching was great, but if the guys don't care about basketball, what will coaching anything get you?

There are tons of reasons from coaching to team makeup, but the truth of the matter is that there is not one WINNER or LEADER on that team.

Winning is an attitude, and the Knicks don't have one basketball player with it. They will never win a championship until they make changes in that roster and in some executive positions.

There is no excuse acceptable from a player making that much money to perform as badly as that team did.

Larry Brown excuse is that he was trying to get them to play his way of basketball and they would not. While I think he could have did a better job, I think you look at his resume and see that he has won everywhere he has been and I can understand to a degree his unwillingness to change.
