It's from Arabic... Zinat.

It's a female's first name, which means: "decoration" or "beauty."

A cute little pet name for Zeenat / Zinat / Zeennat is "Zeeny." :-p

The only famous case of the name "Zeenat" appearing in literature that I can think of is in Salman Rushdie's novel, "The Satanic Verses." There's a character in the book named "Zeenat Vakil" (sometimes referred to as "Zeeny Vakil").

Zeenat Aman is also a famous person. She's a very famous Hindi movie actress. :-p

:-)
