Could you tell me if I am doing this the right way please before I waste a *lot* of time. I don't want any answers pls. Just a push in the right direction. a man has to put a fence round his house. I have to investigate which size of panels make it cheapest: 50cm 1m or 150 cm panels, but also each of them has to have a fence post between them, which is 10cm and I have to allow for a gate. It has to work out to be the cheapest way. Am I doing it right if I just add 10 cm to each panel then divide the perimeter by the size of the panels and the posts combined and just work out from there which combination is going to be cheapest? thank you.

You will need to work out the cost of all three first to find the cheapest!

If you give me the price of the panels and the post plus the size of the fence I'll work it for you!

This is a no obligation quote!

Provide for the Gate too. Substract its size from the perimeter. And handle the fractional part carefully. Also consider, you may need to provide for an extra fence post.

No. Account for loss.

Calculate for every side as on each corner you will have a post. (note 4 total not 8)

just a nudge.
