Do you feel like wishing something to happen in your benefit most of the time? Would you wish without looking back at the consequences on your surrounding unhappiness - related directly to your wishes ?

Health, happy family, find out my purpose in this life

It is very interesting to think about the concept of happiness forever. Think about the last book that you read. It probably contained a main character - the protagonist - and eventually introduced an adversary in the form of a person or thing - the antagonist. Conflict is what makes a story interesting to read. Imagine if the book were about everyones sheer happiness all the time from cover to cover. You would probably be overcome with boredom and never touch the book again. So, in my opinion, this seems to be a fundamental aspect of life. How would you understand true happiness unless there were some bouts of adversity? I believe it is not only possible, but necessary, to look back on the consequences of your surrounding unhappiness in order to achieve happiness. We need that contrast before we can have perspective.

As far as choosing a wish to your benefit, it would seem to me that all of your wishes cannot help but to be to your benefit. If you wish for the health and longevity of your family and loved ones, than does that not in turn make you happy as well? While wishing for world peace may seem altruistic, it can only offer benefits for the wisher as well. And I may be playing devils advocate here, but wouldn't true and ultimate world peace make for an awefully boring (yet safe) world? Just my two cents.

Wish one: to be financially free and took care of, without the headaches other wealthy people face.

Wish two: my sons grow up to lead happy, safe and productive lives with families of their own.

Wish three: Be granted an additional wish AFTER I make this one (poof: granted). Ok...never...NEVER would I wish to trade up my wife (keeping my two sons) for someone without a firey daily temper. Oh never (a-hemmmm) would I....uh...guess I did (whistling softly; innocently...hee hee)

Wish four (bonus wish): spend one night in 1983, back at my old job at a beloved FM radio station on the all-night shift. Laid back in that dim, track lit studio control room, spinning on 45 rpm vynil records, good rock n' roll music.

i would wish i have nothing to fear in or out of this world, health would be good and for people to know/feel the consequences to their actions,so that whenever something is done, justice will prevail and there wont be all this mess everywhere on earth.
i always think there seems little to live for with th world in this kind of state.if every single person thinks (i mean really think with their brains) every single time they do something it will really save a lot of other people cleaning up their mess or suffer from their ignorance.
