if i remember correctly, this sort of scenario cropped up 8 years ago, and that was another united player. wasnt david beckham the enemy of all england for getting sent off for kicking out at diego simeone, and was blamed for england losing to argentina. wasn't he the recipient of countless death threats, and constant booing by fans wherever he went, yet 4 years later he was englands hero for scoring the last minute free kick to get england to the next world cup finals??? what a short memory some people have. i say ronaldo should stay, and face the fans, if he does, and comes out on top, then he has done himself justice, if he doesnt he will regret it

C Ronaldo's conduct all through the match was unjust and cheating. If he is man enough to headbutt Rooney, fall over everytime anyone tried to tackle him, plead with th ref to get him (Roo) sent off for accidental stepping after he was double-tackled, wink to his teammates in a 'job done' fashion, then he should be man enough to take whatever the ManU fans, English fans and English media throw at him. Although we werent on top form throughout most of the tournament most will agree with talent at Sven's disposal 2006 was a very good chance, probably our time to win the cup but to lose out like that has hurt at least 99% of the fans - at Ronaldo's cheating expense.

I hear that C Ronaldo wants to move to Spain so he can be closer to his boyfriend (yep i heard he is gay not that it bothers me tho) But apparently it was said on the news that the move story is untrue and he wants to stay at Untied. He is contracted till 2010?

Well if he does stay he surely will not be popular Beck's didnt get away with it nor did Maradona so why should Ronaldo? Throw him to the lions!! (the three lions!!)

Christian Ronaldo probably should leave the premier league for his own safety. A lot of the English football fans seem to blame him for us losing to Portugal. I agree that he did seem to antagonise Rooney, but if Rooney was not such an animal he probably wouldn't have been sent off. At the end of the day though, the English football team are crap at free kicks. We actually improved when we went down to 10 men.

yes yes yes !! isn't he a prick , cant believe what hes done to his so called team mate . it says in the paper today that they are the best of Friends , on the footage Ive seen he doesn't look like a Friend at all !! i hope Rooney kicks his head in when they meet up out of the way of everyone else . I'm not a man u fan but surly those supporters will not forgive and if i was him id be very weary next time i was out pubbing and clubbing in Manchester. i hope he buggers off , hes a ****@le..

Well he did it to get out of MU. He wants to go to Real Madrid but Real was'nt about to pay £20 000 000 for him so he found another way to get out of MU.

Ronaldo should have quit soccer before the World Cup. And Brasil lost because of him and the coach's blind belief that Ronaldo was going to score 1 last goal to make the record. Ronaldo should quit asap before he loses entirely one of his legs

seriously..he doesnt have to..it only shows him to be a coward if he does...club sides have players from many nations and just because one of them is drenched in controversy it doesnt mean he should walk away from the club..what if ronaldo plays a key role in man utds season and leads them to the title?..will the united fans hate him then?..i think confrontations like this should be limited to the international arena only...in the club game its your club that you have to satisfy and fights will only end in the club stringing poor results..i think ronaldo will stay and i am pretty sure sir alex will sort out the problems anyhow...long live the premiership!!

Yes, he should. If not, the Man Utd fans may throw stuff at him.
