Kool-Aid is a big No No! Infants are hyper enough without all of the extra sugar. I have been giving my baby 4 oz. of Gerber juice per day since 9 mo. as advised by my pediatrician. More that that is too much!

I have an 8 month old and I give her Juicy Juice diluted with water. She gets half juice and half water. Kool-aid is a no in my house. I don't even give it to my 3 year old. Too much sugar and its not good for them.
I give my 8 month old juice water and formula of course.

Kool Aid? My mum didnt like my dad giving us Kool Aid. Said it was bad for us and by then we where quite old. And if i where to go by my mum's standards i would say its bad. Why not give the baby the gerber stuff. Its healther than Kool Aid. And surely Kool Aid will mess her teeth.

Never give a baby Kool-Aid!!!!!!!!! As a matter of fact, do giva a baby any sugar drinks or food. It's bad for the teeth and beacause the baby so young, it could cause health probs early. 100% fruit juice, water, and you may wanna research this one but maybe even gatorade/poweraid will do.

kool aide is terrible because of the sugar intake, the kid will loose those teeth too, but even in juice there is way too much sugar.. better water milk or the best juice.. good looking out :)

a baby should be mainly given milk, usually full skim milk since it has the fats and calories that the baby needs. But if the baby is 8 months old, shouldn't she/he still be breast-fed? Well, Juice is a bad choice in general until the child is around 4 years of age.

The sugar is not the only problem. Think about the junk in there, and the fact that her fluids are coming from such a source. Besides, she is conditioning her child to like sweet drinks - a sure fire way to get her to refuse water, and ohter non-sweetened foods. She is also going to wonder why her baby put on so much weight! :)

That's just plain crazy. Your cousin should be thinking of her baby's nutrition - koolaid is inexpensive but she's creating a sugar monster by giving it to an EIGHT month old! Jeez! Not only will this kid grow up with severe dental problems, she'll have mood swings that will drive your cousin insane. Koolaid + 8 month old = BAD, BAD, BAD idea!

I never gave my baby kool-aid and, yes, sugar was a big reason. She also should not be giving her baby kool-aid unless the pediatrician approved it (highly unlikely).

No, not a good idea, too much sugar. Not just because of the teeth but also because the baby's tummy can't handle that.
