Anyone have a ideas on how to keep my 7 month old busy so I can clean? I've always been alittle bit of a clean freak and since he's been born I definately haven't been able to clean like I use to and it's driving me NUTS!

BTW he HATES those carrier things. I already spend 40 bucks on one of those damn things and he won't even let me put him in it. :(

He has HORRIBLE seperation anxiety. If I put him in his exersaucer he's happy as long as I'm sitting there with him. If I walk away he FREAKS out. I have a whiney baby. LOL

try putting him in a bouncy seat and move him around to each room as you clean...singing and talking to him as you do so that you can still get something done but he will see and hear you . Also, consider hiring a babysitter from your neighborhood to come in for an hour or two and entertain him while you clean. It is good for him to see other people and may help him with the seperation anxiety yet you don't have to worry about leaving him since you will still be home.

Get your self a play pen and put it where you can see the baby and they can see you. Talk and sing to them as you clean or borrow a neighbors kid to entertain the baby for a few hours a day.You could swap with another mother who also needs a break to play catch up or put them in day care for a couple of hours each week or do what I did and it worked out fine when the dad walks in the door hand him his child give hm a kiss and say your a God send now I can clean up this mess you to need time together when I am done maybe we'll all go for a family walk or drive over to my mothers lol. Trust me by the time your done they will be ready to eat and go to sleep .

I don't know what you mean by a carrier, but if you don't have one, the best kind is a sling. You can use it at least 8 or 10 different ways, so if your baby doesn't like it, you can always try something different. But, be sure you get someone to *show* you how to use it; you need to do it right. Try to borrow one first. If you already have a sling, find someone to teach you to use it. But the most important trick is...right after you put him in the sling, you need to walk and bounce for a few minutes to help him get used to it.

Sounds like my son, who also hates carriers of all sorts. If only I had stopped spending at 40 bucks! Anyway, do you have or have access to one of those exersaucers? That is the only thing that worked for us. They are kind of expensive, so it is a great thing to borrow first or look for second-hand.

Make him watch Barney or something, but if he doesn't appreciate it... hmmmm... well, call Nanny 911.
Just kidding.
