because you are thinking about it too much. Or something woke you up. Or you have insomnia. There are two types (1. wakes up after falling asleep short amounts 2. can't fall asleep) If this happens often, see a doctor. If it is a one-time thing, take a pill or a hot bath.

some of the reasons for sleeplessness are:
mental preoccupation
lack of physical exercise
are you stressed? perhaps leading a sedentary lifestyle. exercise or physical workout will definitely relax the mind and body alike. i have observed that people get sound sleep when they put body to work more than mind.

Too much on your mind? I'm usually exactly like you. Just keep laying in bed and read something that really bores you and you'll start yawning sooner or later.

I'm even worse. I didn't even sleep at ALL last night. and then at 1PM i fell asleep till 7PM -_-
And now im here not sleeping at all again its 5AM

Too much caffeine. Cut the caffeine and you'll be amazed at how well you sleep.
