A majority of the Britons described America as a vulgar, crime-ridden society, uncaring, divided by class, awash in violent crime, obsessed with money, ignorant of the outside world, racially divided, uncultured, dominated by big business and led by an hypocritical and incompetent, poor or terrible leader whose Iraq policy is failing. The United States, they add, is no longer a symbol of hope, is essentially an imperial power seeking world domination, and is not worthy of global leadership.

The Britons are our only remaining friend in the world.

Unfortunately, the Brits are correct. This country is a mess. Money going to large business, and to other countries, space program, ect.. There is a huge poverty problem here, education has become second rate, elderly people and vets are treated poorly. Children in America go to bed hungry, but the US finds millions, billions to help other countries, primarily anyone with oil. It's really a shame. This was once a great country-where everyone had the same chance in life. Crime, gangs, drugs, crooked political groups, are ruining this country. More Americans need to get involved and vote INTO office someone who can promote change.

Your premise is flawed. Most polls are inaccurate, and without knowing the exact wording of the questions, the answers given are most likely biased. Read some of the pollsters questions and see what I'm talking about if you dont believe me. If they'll publish them, usually they dont, and just give you the results. Trust them if you want.

If the US is not a symbol of hope etc, why do so many supposedly educated Brits want to emmigrate, study and vacation here?

The Brits arent our "only" friends in the world. The Aussies, Italians, and Japanese are also great allies. But the US can go it alone if need be.

Think we kicked Iraq's n Afghanistan's azz in short time? Just think what we could do if 100 percent of the country was pissed off at some pissant country. This is why you have never seen a suicide bomber in the USA. Even those lunatic savages know what would happen to "Palestine" or whatever made up country they come from if they pulled that shite here...

You can tell all those noble Brits who've given up their guns and their country to the muslims that they are still welcome here. All except the socialist wankers of course...

hi Lioness, i tried to discover "objectified" and "objectification" contained in the dictionary and no excitement. nicely, i'm no longer precisely certain I understand your queston, yet imagine i'd have an concept. besides, have you ever heard of the "bell curve"? it really is a curve that's formed like a bell and does a strong job of representing information. As for attractiveness, at one end of the curve we've the least pleasing and at the different end the most. an same will be real for income ... poorest on one aspect and richest on the different. contained in the course of the bell we've each and every of the classic persons. i imagine what you're keeping is real, yet merely merely a reality of existence. we've the full spectrum for both genders. As for why men do not protest ... i wager they don't forget that that is merely the way issues are and protests are unlikely to regulate something. desire this helps!

Any respect i ever had for the Americans went last year after our 7/7 attacks. After 9/11 we all stood by you and really felt for you wanted to do all we could for you even went to war with you. Your country told Americans(soldiers) to stay away from London after our attacks oh they reversed it a few days later after an outcry from the british public so all is well now huh? lol i never forget that so don't worry i don't ever have any plans to visit America

This has aboslutely nothing to do with your question, but I just wanted to point out to anyone that thinks that Americans are uncultured that they have to remember our country is HUGE. To travel to another country (mexico or canada) it would take most people DAYS to drive there. Unlike in Europe where you can drive for 8 hours and be in another country. We don't travel because it's too far and too expensive, not because we don't want to.

I'm weary of all these attacks on Americans. Let them think what they want.
