Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Man's best friend is better that a friend who's a man, especially in your case.

I assume you have discussed the passing of your dog with your so-called boyfriend. If he knows about the grief you have been thrust into by this horrible event and he doesn't have a kind or understanding word for you, that says a lot about his feelings for you. He doesn't HAVE a lot of feelings for you. Once you get that concept clear in your mind, you must make your own decision about what to do with your relationship.

Flirting is not a reason to discard a close relationship. Not caring about your dog's demise may be a good reason.

I would make a serious attempt to express your feelings about your dog's passing and if he doesn't have a kind thing to say to you, make your decision and find some one who will care about your feelings.

i am sorry about your dog. it's like losing a family member...

i would let your boyfriend know that this is bothering you and what you would like him to do instead. if he listens and acts on your wishes great. if not, turn to your friends and family for the support you need. don't be afraid to see a counselor as well if needed.

if you boyfriend can't/won't be there for you, find someone you know who can and let them know how much you appreciate their support. you deserve a shoulder to lean on right now...
