Wouldn't effort be more wisely spent trying to undermine possible future candidates?

Bush seems to be getting his way more often than not. I wouldn't call him lame he just appointed 2 supreme court justices for life including a chief justice.

Undermining Bush succeeds in undermining the Republican party. People can be fickle. That's why the different political parties have ever-shifting rosters.

I'm not surprised people, especially conservatives, don't get the opposition to President Bush.
You see...a long time ago here in the New World, we set up a government by the People. In the early days, it was really just government for propertied, white males. But it was a decent start to move society beyond the realms of monarchy. Slowly, more people were added to the list of political participants in our new nation (blacks, women) and our democracy grew.
At the beginning of the new millennium, George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney had had enough of democracy. They wanted to roll back the clock and implement again a government by more narrow groups of self-interested individuals tied to powerful corporate interests (generally, propertied white males).
However, there was one thing standing in their way....the U.S. Constitution. To appointed Vice-President Cheney, the Constitution is just a "piece of paper". The disdain these Republicans have for the foundation of our Republic was already in place. They only needed to act to eliminate any remaining resistance the Constitution provided against their despotic, plutocratic, oligarchic designs for our country.
Well, the media showed up to the junta. Brave men and women inside government started leaking details of the illegal activity by the Bush adminsitration. Then the administration turned on the truth-tellers because the truthful were shining a disabling light on their evil plans, threatening to reinvigorate the Constitution which could come to the People's rescue.
Today most people know how crooked, fraudulent and evil the Bush administration is. The people who understand what the Constitution means and what our Republic stands for are very, very angry! They've been paying attention. The rest, primarily mindless conservative sheep, don't realize they are being conned and continue to support the worst President in the history of the United States.
To make a long story short, as people who believe in democracy and the rule of law WE HAVE TO UNDERMINE A PRESIDENT WHO IS DESTROYING THE U.S. CONSTITUTION FOR HIS OWN SINISTER DESIGNS.

Well, I am an Independent, someone who realizes that Bush is giving away money faster than any president in our history and me and you and my children and grandchildren will have to pay for his benefits to the wealthy for many years to come.
While I have no real problems with the way he has handled our national defense I strongly dislike his usage of dirty trick politics to silence those who do not agree with him.
I think many Democrats, as well as many Republicans, are working to ensure that the far right will not have so much influence in the future.
So, they are doing this now to ensure a hopefully better future.
NEITHER THE FAR RIGHT OR THE FAR LEFT TRULY REPRESENTS AMERICA. I SAY KICK BOTH SIDES OUT!
