Where do "we" go? Well, for some of us, the "we" goes in the ground. We push up daisies, we take a dirt-nap.... for others of us (and those who have had a life after death experience, confirm this, there is evidence that some form of our consciousness continues ( people talk about seeing themselves as well as a light when their bodies have been termed "deceased" and then they are revived). Believers in an after life insist on some sort of heaven...

There is no evidence of life after death. I suppose it is possible there is something, some 'essence' or 'consciousness' that survives the death of the body, but I am doubtful. The Buddhists believe that there is no "I" in "I": that 'self' is an illusion, merely a collection of processes that gives us the illusion that there is a 'me'.
So there is no 'place' to go after death since there is nothing to go anywhere when the body dies. When we die, we cease. There is no scientific evidence for the existance of a soul, or some abiding essence that persist after we die. Yet?
At least, this is most likely.

There is no proof. At least not the kind of proof any scientist will accept. Even if somebody was to come back (and some say they did) science will view it as... brain-dysfunction, delusion or just plain fake.
You just have to believe...or not.
