You say there are conspiracies but then you ask what they are? If you say they exist then you should be able to list at least some of them. What are you talking about? Of course the only comspiracy that proved itself to be true was the actual events of 9/11. So name some others.

People are thinking about possible answers. There are many that still have been left on the table. The assasination of JFK is an example that has brought along conspiracy theories. Many people question the government because in the past, it has hidden the truth from the people. Look a little farther back in the History of the US: The Hispanic American War of 1898 that the US waged against Spain. It wasn't the US who started the fire. It wasn't the Spaniards either. It was a reporter who was aboard the USS Maine. He put a bomb there. It exploded on the Shores of Cuba. The US immediately made Spain responsible. Spain had no clue what was happening. So based on these historical facts, no wonder people have conspiracy theories!

It's common nature. There have always been conspiracy theories, from who really shot Lincoln to Elvis being still alive.

Why do you think a television series like The X Files was so popular.

It's like asking why do so many people get hung up on what Paris Hilton is doing.

It's a diversion many us instead of directly dealing with what may be lacking in their own lives or a search for some kind of justification or answer to the seemingly overwhelming problems we face today.

Because 9-11 was like something out of a bad B-movie from the 1970's. It just seemed so far fetched for planes to hit a building and for it to come down like a controlled demolition. 9-11 just screamed for conspiracy theories.

The reason that conspiracy theories exist is that the people have lost faith and belief in their government and this is further egged on by sensational press. Another factor is the deceipt that has been fomented by the government itself to cover reasons for their actions. To wit, the Spanish American War, the Gulf of Tonkin. assassinations and such. Indeed, Pearl Harbor might have been inspired to bring the US into the Pacific War, as intelligence apparently knew of the possible attack weeks before it happened. I was blown out of a hotel in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) and I was later told by a friend in intelligence that they knew of the attack weeks before it took place. But no action was taken because it made good press and spurred on American support. War is big business reaping profits of millions or billions at the loss of just lives...pretty cheap. I am certain that the current rumors are about prior knowledge, or closing eyes to activities or even collusion and any are both possible and likely. But with the reputation of the CIA, one might even suspect a deeper motive to draw the US into a war in the Middle East with the ultimate goal of OIL. We lost 50,000 men in Vietnam and gained nothing but some companies laughed on the way to the bank. If Vietnam was such a critical place for the security of Asia, why did we need to pay other countries for token troops (Australia and New Zealand paid their own way) but it is still rumored that there are vast oil reserves off the coast of Vietnam. What controls the government?....Money and Business.

Why shouldn't there be so many? The practice began in the Garden of Eden when Eve conspired with the devil. It hasn't stopped since.

Every time some incident occurs that cannot be immediately answered and displayed before the public, it's because of a conspiracy of some sort.

That's included in the third lobe from the left in everyone's brain.

The biggest conspiracy theory is the one told by the government. 19 arabs highjacked planes and flew them around for hours, defeating a mutlibillion dollar defense program like NORAD. Yeah right. The towers fell from the planes hitting them and fire? Please even my children tell better lies than that. The secret service did not feel necessary to protect the president even though when he walked in that school, which was public knowlegde of his wereabouts that possibley 20 planes had been highjacked. Why? Instead of attempting to figure out how many conspiracy theories there are, shouldn't you be attempting to figure out how the government story holds water. Lets see 6 of the 19 highjackers managed to live today? how? High rise sky scrapers have fallen before due to fire, that is why they build them all over the world. Never happened before in history, happened to 3 buildings on 911 but has not happened since. You tell me, and by the way building 7 was not hit by any plane. So you explain that one? Kind of reminds me of the magic bullet and the Warren Commission report, and we all know that was a cover up of the murder of a president. It is not like our government has not lied to us before. They then hid their lies behind national security. I say as American citizens its high time we stopped allowing them to hide the crimes they have committed behind national security. I say it is high time we have a real investigation of 911. Could 19 arabs provide war games to cover the 911 attacks? Could 19 arabs set the demolition explosives in the buildings, the firefighter's testimony and eye witness testimony both stated there were explosions. How?
So tell me do you believe the biggest conspiracy theory going and that is the one told by the government?

The truth is always more or less blurred by people trying to set their own agendas to international events and or tragedies in order to manipulate public opinion towards their goals it really all comes down to whether or not the individuals are willing to believe the incidents are more than they appear. If you heard Bin Laden directly after 9/11 he stated the attack was to punish the American citizens. They accomplished that where the hell does another conspiracy fit into that simple yet brutal explanation I say quit trying to fit personal agendas into public policy. Now you know why the rest of the world asks why it takes us so long to respond to international crisis es talk to the congress who spend most of their days trying to get something out of every possible piece of legislature even if it means they distort the simple but ugly truths.

I don't know if any of these theories is true.

The fact is, that the people in power got the biggest free ride in their life when 9/11 happened. The fear put them back in power dispite all the American jobs being sent overseas (for love of the big buck), despite $3 a gallon gas, despite wars that nobody can even explain.

Hah!! They even made immigration an issue like they want to help America. It was under the present administration that people about to retire were forced to hire FOREIGN WORKERS to replace them.

Fear is the only way to get a people to support someone who is AGAINST THEM.

conspiracy theories = divide and conquer

Looks like to me the enemy is successfully executing his strategy. Nothing you could say to the people posting here would convince them of anything but what they have decided is true. The theories have the effect of exonerating the original perps who happen to be 19 Saudi Jihadists , all followers of Osama Bin Laden. Anyone who spreads the theory that we could do this to our own people is a traitor and should be arrested. Most every one here is guilty of sedition also.
You people are so confused at this point that when they come for you you won't fight back. You'll just stand there screaming while they saw your head off with a dull kitchen knife. THESE PEOPLE WANT TO KILL YOU!
